James Durbin and Stefano Langone

This week's theme for the Top 7 is Music of the 21st Century.

I know I've said in a few of my American Idol posts that James Durbin is not one of my favourites this year but his performance last night was incredible. OK, maybe the song Uprising by Muse kinda had something to do with me loving it too coz I am an absolute huge fan of Muse but wow, James is starting to grow on me. With that costume, he reminded me of Adam Lambert. And of course, I always support the cutie Stefano Langone. I know he's not the strongest in this competition but this week's Closer by Ne-Yo is such a sexy song for him. Yeah, just like Jimmy Iovine said this song is pretty much about sex and when Stefano gave that sexy eye stare to the camera, oooh ma shizzles!

Stefano Langone singing Closer by Ne-Yo

These two had been roommates since the beginning of the American Idol week.

It was nice to get the 5 girls and 1 guy who was already out to come back and sing Pink's Start A Fight. It's still a sad thing to be reminded that Pia Toscano is already out but at the same time, I am also glad Naima Adedapo is out weeks ago. I just didn't like her at all. I know she's got the whole sad family story and all but she doesn't have a good voice and I think she's just trying too hard. Whatever she's doing is not called stage presence anymore, it should be renamed as stage clown. LOL! Oops, I know I'm harsh about this but whatever, I don't like her.

I love the show last night, including the part Steven Tyler cursed on Live TV. I think it would be really hard to see who will be the one out of the Top 7. Wow, time flew so fast and by tonight, another person will be going home. Another 6 weeks to go to find out America's Idol of 2011! Are you guys as excited as I am? Woohoo!

Goodbye Pia Toscano

I was tweeting about how I can't wait to check out today's American Idol results and I got a reply that it's going to be a shocker. That one word already got me wondering like crazy, and when it was time for the bottom three, I just couldn't stand the anticipation anymore. I didn't even care that Iggy Pop was singing topless on stage. Other times, I would've puked seeing a 64-year old man singing "Real Wild Child (Wild One)" on stage without his shirt on, but the Punk singer didn't even manage to turn me off as I wait to see who is sent home from American Idol.

Bottom Three : Jacob, Pia, Stefano

The bottom three was Stefano Langone, Pia Toscano and Jacob Lusk. When I first saw the lineup, I thought maybe Stefano would be gone. He was the least strongest in the bunch. But after Jacob was first sent to the couch, it was time to announce the one who would go home and oh my gosh, it was awful to hear that the power voice lady is going home.

This is so sad. I know Pia will probably get a recording deal very very soon and probably become more famous than the winner of this year's American Idol but it's just so sad to see such a beautiful vocally strong lady go home so early. But whatever it is, we wish her all the best. Maybe there's a blessing in disguise to this, who knows? She's got to be strong and work hard for a good record deal. Whereas the others who are still in the competition will have to remember what Randy says, "Nobody is safe!"

Hulk Hogan on American Idol?

This Season 10 of American Idol is just so cool! First there's Steven Tyler with all his crazy comments (I should compile all his crazy comments and dedicate one post to it by the end of American Idol 2011) and now, this!

 Hulk Hogan

It was so funny when they first rolled VT of the boys - James Durbin and Paul McDonald - wrestling and goofing around in their mansion but when suddenly Hulk Hogan came out and announced that these two boys are safe, we're all incredibly relieved. I like Paul. He's got that star quality as well as a unique voice. However, I'll still support my Stefano Langone 100%. *Ahem* My Stefano Langone. LOL!

However, I am yet to fall in love with the lady contestants. I think Pia Toscano owns the best voice amongst all the ladies but I would agree with the judges that she need to showcase something different soon or she'll just end up blending into the background. I'm still waiting for that "goosebumps" from the ladies.

Bottom Three : Casey Abrams, Stefano Langone, Thia Megia

Of course, this same night left me quite speechless when both Stefano Langone and Casey Abrams became the bottom two. I already have this feeling that if Stefano is at the bottom, the judges will not use the "safe". But it was also a crazy surprise that Casey is the one at the bottom. When he sang the final song and Randy stopped him halfway, I think my heart is probably pounding as hard as his. I was wondering why the heck Randy stopped him when he only just started singing his song. But, it turned out that this is a unanimous decision and they are using the "safe" on Casey Abrams. WOW!

He was shaking when he shook hands with the judges. His face showed the state he was in. I am too, knowing that the judges used their "safe" when there's still 11 contestants left. Now because of this "safe", TWO contestants will be eliminated next week. I am hoping within hope that it won't be Stefano. He's got a good voice people. Vote for him!

I love today's performers too. Stevie Wonder is the best. He is an icon and an unbelievable artist. And wow, look at Jennifer Hudson! Oh, by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Steven Tyler!!

It's Wednesday already!

It's already the middle of the week. Time sure fly by so fast. But you wanna know what is it that make me love Wednesdays? It's coz the next day is Thursday and Thursday is the day I get to see Steven Tyler and his crazy antics! LOL! Well, actually I can't wait to check out the American Idol contestants too. Do you know that tomorrow is the first week for us to follow the journey of the Top 13? That means they're all prepped for serious singing and will be performing as future recording artists.

American Idol 2011 - Top 13

Amongst the Top 13, I have to say, I like that Stefano Langone the most. He's not only cute (that's quite important, I must say) but he's got this beautiful voice that reaches out to you - provided that he sings the right song. Sometimes you need the right song to bring out the magic in you, y'know? He was not one of the Top 10 picked by viewers. Stefano was one of the three wild cards (including Ashton Jones and Naima Adedapo) picked by the judges instead. But I think the judges did not make a mistake on this guy. View his performance for the wild card pick below and you'll see why.

Oh, and I read that they've already chosen songs for the contestants tomorrow too. I sure can't wait to hear them sing the songs according to their own unique style. Do you want to know what will the Top 13 sing tomorrow? Here they are :
  • Lauren Alaina – Any Man of Mine (Shania Twain)
  • Casey Abrams – With A Little Help From My Friends (Joe Cocker)
  • Ashton Jones – When You Tell Me That You Love Me (Diana Ross)
  • Paul McDonald – Come Pick Me Up (Ryan Adams)
  • Pia Toscano – All By Myself (Celine Dion)
  • James Durbin – Maybe I’m Amazed (Paul McCartney)
  • Haley Reinhart – Blue (LeAnn Rimes)
  • Jacob Lusk – I Believe I Can Fly (R. Kelly)
  • Thia Megia – Smile (Michael Jackson)
  • Stefano Langone – Lately (Stevie Wonder)
  • Karen Rodriguez – I Could Fall In Love (Selena)
  • Scotty McCreery – The River (Garth Brooks)
  • Naima Adedapo – Umbrella (Rihanna)
So what do you guys think? Are the song choice appropriate? And who would you root for tomorrow?

This is my confession...

I am addicted to American Idol Season 10. I am addicted to the many young talented performers on the show. I am addicted to the awesome judges, especially Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez too for being incredibly beautiful EVERYTIME the camera's on her and Randy Jackson for giving those "surprised" facial expressions when somebody sang beautifully.

I find myself glued in front of the screen watching these talented boys and girls do their thing. I have to admit, some of them gave me goosebumps. It's amazing! I sometimes wonder how can a voice make the hairs at the back of your neck stand up? So, today I did some karaoke-ing with my brothers at home and found that instead of sounding like a superstar, I have now lost my voice. LOL!

There goes my plan to try out in some singing competition. I guess I'd better leave that to the masters!

Oh my goodness, that kid Deandre Brackensick voice is just so incredible. I can't believe he's that young! If he has a girlfriend, I'm sure she tells him to sing to her ALL the time! Amazing how talented some people are. I wish I had amazing voices like them. If I did, I would sing myself to sleep every night.

There are so many other talented American Idol hopefuls too and if I was one of the judges, I would be having one hell of a time trying to pick the winner. This is a one tough season. I just hope there will not be any biased decisions or already start picking a winner before it even began. Well, I just can't wait to see who will make it through to next week!

American Idol Season 10 Auditions

Have you heard about the new judges of American Idol Season 10? No? Haven't you watch the American Idol Season 10 auditions? Oh no.. You're missing on a lot of funny moments, touching moments and not  forgetting to mention, crazy moments too. And the best part is - Steven Tyler is in ALL those moments! LOL.

I guess I enjoy this season's panel of judges more than the past seasons. One of the reason why I didn't sit in front of the TV every week for American Idol Season 9 was because of the judges, which I thought was disconnected and looked like they had issues among themselves. I didn't like them at all. But this year's judges are an awesome bunch.

From left : Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Ryan Seacrest.

Randy "The Dawg" Jackson is just the way he is, which is fabulous because I sort of imagined with Simon gone, he might try to be the mean one in the trio. Luckily though, my assumption was wrong. Then there's Jennifer Lopez who is just so pretty, I feel like biting her nose or something! Love her clothes and hair and makeup and comments and everything else... I also can't help smiling at how cute she gets with Randy and Steven. Argh, she's so sweet I just want to squeeze her! But the one I just love watching is none other than Steven Tyler himself! Or Stevie, as he would like Jennifer to call him in one of the audition episodes - LOL! I think I want to compile videos of the auditions that has Steven's outrageousness (well that would mean all, I bet you), which one of them includes this comment :

(Milwaukee Audition)
Steven : Well hell fire said matches, *bleep* the duck and see what hatches.

Tell me now, how can I NOT love Steve Tyler? He makes me laugh like mad.

Anyway, one of the auditions that touches my heart is by Chris Medina. He has a beautiful voice and his story is very emotional. You can check out this video below (had to use Vimeo because YouTube banned this) of his audition and the story of Chris Medina and his fiancée; Juliana.
I can't wait to see who's going to make it in to American Idol Season 10. I promise I will be following it every week! How about you?
