I’m Going to the Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair

Now I'm sure you're wondering why you should make way to Berjaya Times Square on 17th April (Saturday) because you wouldn't want to waste your "rest time" to chill with the family. Well, do not worry! The Gatsby Street Fair is unlike any other fairs. It is far from boring, I can assure you. There will be many exciting activities, fun and games awaiting all participants to this fair. The many games includes "rubber band throw", "sumo wrestling in a bubble baloon" and many more. So there's no excuse for you to not come and bring your mother, father, uncle, aunties, nieces, nephews and friends to the fair.

The interesting part is that when you participate in the games at the fair, you will be given points. Participants with the highest collective points will be given the chance to trade them with interesting items from Gatsby! Ah ha.. That's not all though, all participants are also eligible to enter a lucky draw which prizes includes electronic items, computers, handphones and cash vouchers totalling up to RM15,000. Now, let me repeat that... ELECTRONIC ITEMS, COMPUTERS, HANDPHONES and CASH VOUCHERS up to RM15,000!

Those who have no idea how to go there or if you can only go there using Public Transport, you may take the Monorail or the Star LRT. Any interchanges can be done at KL Sentral.

Since I'm Going to the Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair, my question is, ARE YOU?

The Biggest Loser Asia

... is not me.

Honestly, I wasn't too keen on the title "Biggest Loser". I mean, imagine you won the competition and then everywhere you go people knows you by that and they'll be referring you as, "Hey, that's the biggest loser guy. Remember? What's his name? Alah.. He's the biggest loser in the whole of Asia!" and pointing you to his wife, kids, mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, aunt, uncle and the whole horde. I mean, I know the title is catchy up to a certain point and if you view it in losing the pounds department but other than that, I just didn't like it.

I seriously have not been following this show until the Top 5. When I heard that one of the contestants that made it into the Top 5 is from Malaysia, I browsed the net for a bit to checkout who it was. Let's just say somebody in my troop knew him once. So, I was intrigued to see how this one and only contestant from Malaysia is going to make it. Will he be in the finals? Will he be able to bag the USD100,000 and the Renault? Coz, you know, I think the Renault is sexy. Wish I had one. 

Last night, at exactly 10.15pm, Hallmark Astro aired the Biggest Loser Asia Finale. It was sort of a reunion for all the contestants. But that wasn't what got me laughing out loud. What got me laughing was when the Top 4 contestants was supposed to go through a giant size photo of their "before" look and come out with their new appearance. Aaron was the only one who went through it with enough force and speed for the frame to stay in place. The other three actually got the frame crashing on top of them. Okay, I admit it was bad of me to laugh but don't they have someone in charge to not let the frames fall on the contestants? Who's managing this whole program anyway? 

So, who was the winner?

When Carlo came out third, I thought he was going to win. He was so slim! I thought he really lose a lot of weight but when David came out, I was like, that's it, he'll win hands down. The difference of weight loss from when he left the location at A Famosa Resort, Malacca on week 11 was tremendous. He weighed in at 102kg on week 11 and last night for the finale, he weighed in at 74kg thus making him the winner of the First Season! I couldn't help but notice though that he looked rather frail, but maybe that's not important. The numbers is what's important for this type of competition, I suppose.

So You Think You Can DO IT?

Dance, I mean. I was watching So You Think You Can Dance in between watching the 82nd Academy Awards  re-run and I saw this amazing dance on the SYTYCD show. I have to admit, I'm not much of a SYTYCD fan. Usually when I skim the channels and I land on the show, I'll watch for a while and then get up and find food in the kitchen or something. But today, I saw this episode and this couple really stood out and got me mesmerized.

None other than Legacy and Kathryn.

When I browsed the web, I found that this episode was on a few weeks ago but I don't care. I still want to show what is it that got me glued to the screen. 

I was so mesmerized at how they brought the music to life and complimented it with every dance step. I loved how it looked like she can never move on because he is always holding her back. How he hang on to her middle and she can't seem to tear him away from her even though she pushed him hard. And the last part, I absolutely loved the last part.

I know a major part of this choreography to work out is thanks to the choreographer but the dancers would have to compliment each other to make the dance work as well. I'm not a dancer but I know a great dance-step when I see one. I love love loved this so much. Wish I had the talent to do something like this. 

By the way, I know the Academy Awards just passed and I'm sure so many people are talking about it in details or watched it themselves so I don't find the need to elaborate much on the entire show. What I did like was the intros before Best Actor and Best Actress nominees was announced. Some of the things they said were funny (like what Tim Robbins said on Morgan Freeman) and some were touching so if you haven't watch it, go watch the re-run or find somewhere in YouTube. Oh, and since we're on the "dancing" track, come watch this performance by Legion of Extraordinary Dancers performing for the best score awards for the 82nd Academy Awards. Enjoy!

P/S : I'm writing this simple and light post because I had been touching on two heavy topics the last two posts and somebody said it made them "angry" when they read it. LOL!
