Child Abuse

Only a week ago the nation was surprised with the death of a 3 year-old, Syafia Humairah Sahari who was abused by her alleged step father on 26th February, and today another news of child abuse and death of 18 month-old toddler, Hareswarra is seen on the pages of newspapers across the country.
News on Syafia's case:
Read Star Online : Feb 27, Feb 27, Feb 28.
Today's news on Hareswarra:
Read Star Online : Mar 5, Mar 5.

When I first read Syafia's case, I thought what a crazy man her alleged step father must be. And what sort of crazy chaotic family she must be unluckily born into. Her mom, who looked innocent with her head scarf (obviously she is a Malay and a Muslim) was actually cohabiting with this taxi driver when she was still married to another man who is now in prison. When I read the news about her, the first thing I thought was to never judge a book by its cover. Outside she may look like a good pleasant mother but wow, she certainly have weird skeletons in her closet. And to find out that she have another child out of wedlock age 18 months with the damn taxi driver cum child murderer is just unbelievable.

Note : It is in the Islamic Law that a woman legally married to a man is not allowed to be with any other man except her husband until she is legally divorced.

What has happened to the Muslim society in our country now? Just because the women wear head scarfs and baju kurung does not mean they are innocent you know. Wake up people, wake up! She can liken her murderer boyfriend as an angel even after he killed her daughter? Oh God, how can she live with herself? Such an embarrassment to the Muslims. And the taxi driver boyfriend, seriously, he said he did it because he's angry that the girl was stubborn well, what do you expect from a THREE year-old child? She was enjoying herself at the play-field. If you want her to follow you, say something nice maybe. Promise her sweets maybe. Not kick her around like a football and step on her head many times you devil! I hope he will be punished severely.

Then today when I opened the newspaper and read Hareswarra's case, I looked at his photo and thought what a cute little boy he was. How could the lorry attendant have the heart to kick or hit him until his liver is ruptured and broke six ribs? He is just 18 months old! He's not even TWO years old. A kid that tiny and you hit him worst than a punching bag. What I can't stand was the reason he gave for doing it. If you're jealous you have no kid and this couple have two and send their son to your wife to babysit, then have a talk with your own wife on what could be the problem with the two of you or go visit the doctor and check if your sperm is dead or go adopt or something. Why do you have to murder another couple's son out of jealousy? I think the cells in his brain must be dead. All that long journey sitting in the lorry and inhaling carbon monoxide must've gotten into him or something.

There are too many psychopaths these days. They look well on the outside but only God knows what's going on in their heads. Friends, families, neighbours should look out for any weird or uncommon traits in the people you know and take precaution so that things like this will not occur. Sometimes I feel scared of my own people in my own country. This is sad. Very sad indeed.

This is what happens when u are uneducated! So angry reading abt this esp the first case. Da mother should be punished too for "allowing" this tragedy to materialize! >:o >:o >:o >:o >:o

Yeah, I can't understand how the mother can act so innocent and as if she didn't know the man is an abuser. People don't turn into an abuser in a blink of an eye. I'm sure the mother must've already noticed some violent traits in him. You can't blame "stress" that makes you do it. You'll look more like an unstable person.. I'm angry too! >:o >:o >:o >:o

And what makes me angrier are the people who WITNESSED him kicking and stepping on the girl and did nothing. I mean, he's just one person and you are in a group so go pull him away or something. Now the girl is dead and all these people are only willing to be "witnesses". Arrgh! Stuuuupid! >:o >:o >:o >:o >:o

Yes, he kicked the boy until his liver was ruptured. If you read the online news, the boy was still alive when he returned to the babysitter's home but he complained he was in pain by pointing to his head.. Imagine how much suffering he must be in.. :'(

Yeah, I feel the same too. Hope the two men get what they deserve. Lucky our country still practice mandatory death sentences.. Serves it right for these devils!

Bella Enveeus said...

Tu la pasal.. Bukan je dera2, tapi pembuangan bayi pun meningkat.. Hari2 ada je cerita baby dead in garbage bin or in plastic bags or left at the mosque.. Memang memalukan rakyat kita sekarang.. Mana pergi moral dan pegangan agama pun tak tahulah..

That's why.. Kadang2 binatang tu lg baik.. Sedangkan tuhan anugerahkan akal fikiran tp kesian ramai manusia tak nak guna..

I really hate reading all these news about child abused. Hey, if you can't take care of your children well, why do you even considered to have them at the first place? Children deserved to see this world that filled with peace and tranquility. Not the one that is filled with violence and crime by they own trusted parents!

Thank you so much Bella for commenting in my blog. I am glad to be here. I will add your blog in my Malaysia Blogroll (in the front page of my blog). Hopefully, I could find the time to visit you more often - I'm in my final year right now. Hehe

Sometimes when I think it, maybe there's a reason why this happens. Imagine them living and growing up in such abusive surroundings. I don't doubt that fathers or step-fathers like Syafia's could just turn into one of those monsters who rape their own daughters when their daughters grow up. :( I don't know, maybe it's God's interference to save them from such bleak future.. But whatever it is, everybody plays a role. Like I said, neighbours, friends, families should always look out for violent traits on each other and take precaution. Cause we all know there's no use crying over spilled milk..

True to the nama .. Malaysia Boleh.. ishhhh *geram..

I agree with you Bella. As a muslim, i am pretty much embarassed with lots of Malaysia Muslims' attitudes nowadays. I think it is time that we have to start back the "Saya Kisah" atiitude - i mean in a postive way in our society. Not the - Busy Body style. Aware if your neighbours are out for vacation so if something looks suspicious, we could alert the police, for instance.

Hear if a child is crying out loud which doesnt sound normal. Problem with us, we hope that somebody else will take care of business and it has nothing to do with us, which later, could already be to late, like in this case.

Aiyoooooo... ntah la malaysia ni... masyarakat teruk.. jom buat balik rukun tetangga :-D

I notice that our citizens are more selfish nowadays.. For example when a snatch theft happens in broad daylight in the middle of a crowd, ppl can just stand and stare while the woman screams her lungs out. What happens to the time when a "hero" will come chasing the thief and rescue the handbag? I know that most criminals now are more daring. They have parangs and other weapons with them and are brave to whack ppl at mamak stall in broad daylight. Still, what happens to the "together we stand" motto? If ppl bring parang at mamak stalls, we throw hot boiling water at their faces. What happened to the motto "bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh" that we used to have plastered on our classroom wall in big font?

We need to instill the semangat bekerjasama in our young again...

"Hero" ahaaaa... i think only exist in Bollywood only.. :-D :-D

Agree, tu la fasal depa semakin daring in daylight. =-O
