Making YourSingapore Mine

Singapore. Who does not know this country? You see, my mom is a Singaporean and I guess because of that, I sort of take the country for granted. I don't really explore Singapore through the eyes of a tourist and appreciate all the beauty and splendor she has to offer. Honestly in all my years of living, I've only been to Sentosa twice.

So, now that I am an adult and is capable of traveling on my own, I think I would very much love to travel to Singapore and see it through the lens of an outsider. I would like to appreciate what she has to offer and to enjoy all the beautiful sights and scenes there is. In order to do that, I need a proper planning. I would really hate it if I have to go somewhere and spend my precious time trying to find a location that I'm not sure of or trying to decipher a weird-looking legend on a map instead of going straight to where I wanted to.

 Plan your itinerary!

So, here's when the YourSingapore Guide comes into play. Oh yeah, I wish every country has this sort of web info guide so that whenever we want to visit another country, we can plan out and list our itinerary beforehand. So, do you want to know what I plan to do in Singapore for a 3D2N relaxi-taxi (borrow your word Marzie!) funtastic time?

I think the first two things I would look for in Singapore on my first day are food and some shopping time. So my first day will be filled with eating and shopping experience. I guess it's a way to wind down after a long trip, plus a way to a contented heart is a tummy filled with yummy food, right? Once the tummy's happy, then the shopping shall begin!

Day 1

My second day on the other hand would be all about events. But then again, what better way to start a day with an awesome food, right? And look at that! The Song of India, it says! And right after singing my heart (and stomach!) all the way to India, it is time to explore the finer things in life - art. It does not have to be with a brush too. Art comes in many forms, including fashion. Oh yeah, how can I deny a fashion show or two? Singapore is like the fashion hub in SEA. Plus, most of the latest fashion and designer items are cheaper here.

And ho-ho-ho. Don't miss that - JewelFest. The name itself is calling to me.

But then the night is still young, and so what else should a hawt laydee do in Singapore? Shake her booty of course!

Day 2

Finally, my third day will be a day of relaxation and taking myself back to nature. I mean, after all that shopping on my first day and not to mention, high heels on my second day (come on, I'm at a fashion show, if I don't wear high heels, I deserve to be thrown out on my butt), what better way to end my trip than with a relaxing soothing massage followed by listening to the sound of waves, seeing some dolphins tricks and cycling to reduce my carbon footprint?

After all that I can also try to hone my photography skills by capturing photos of all those amazing looking buildings and interiors of the National Museum and Fort Canning Park. Right after that, the best way to end the day and trip is by having a scrumptious meal in a restaurant that'll transport me straight to Bali, complete with wooden cabanas, international cuisine and the best part - lingering smell of frangipani. Ooooh yeahhhhh...

Day 3

I suppose my itinerary covers for a single-person trip or if I'm going to drag somebody with me (read : Bbunz). Whatever it is though, it surely is going to be a fun-filled and awesome possum trip! Oh, and I am not going to miss posing with the Merlion. That's a definite must!

Discover Your Miracle with Lancôme Maqui Miracle

I have always been a fan of Lancôme although I love it's fragrances more. I wear Trésor sometimes, I love the beautiful scent and also because I imagine myself looking as beautiful and confident as Penelope Cruz in the ad campaign. Oh well, a girl can dream, right?

When I was invited to the Lancôme Maqui Miracle workshop, I couldn't be more happier. I needed a lesson on makeup application and not to mention, a good makeup for my skin. Honestly, I am not much of a makeup user, I hardly wear any base, foundation or loose powder. And yes, due to lack of care of my face, I have a dust of freckles on my cheeks. I know, it's all my fault and so now, I want to learn how to get rid of that.

Lancôme first found its miracle in 2010 with it's Teint Miracle foundation that had managed to create the aura of perfect skin. Now in 2011, they've created a better creation that gives the aura lively brightness that lasts all day with it's Maqui Blanc Miracle. Now, there are three important key points of Maqui Miracle that you must know.

There are 8 shades available specifically for Asian skins.

Now check this. The colors are labeled PO, O and BO followed by numbers 0, 1, 2 and 3 (lightest to darkest). The PO stands for Pink-Ochre which is great for those with pink skin tones, O is Ochre which is a neutral color and great for those with no significant pink or yellow undertones and BO is Beige-Ochre which is for slightly yellowish skin.

 My Maqui Miracle

As a rule of thumb though, most fair skinned Asians falls in the BO or O category. I myself was given the BO-01 tone. I chose a powder that will make me look natural and subtle - that's my style, I do not like to stand out. However, if you're the type who prefers a more outstanding look, you may opt for one tone lighter than your skin color. You may also choose a tone darker than you skin color and fully make up your face to give that "bang" look.

So, how did it turn out on my own face? Ah-ha! Wouldn't you like to know?

The Season of the Witch is Here

"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live," it says in the book of Exodus (xxii, 18). This and other Biblical admonitions and commands both defined the witch and prescribed his or her fate. A witch is someone in consort with Satan, the Evil One, the spirit who rebelled against God but whom God suffered to live.

Today, a typical general witch is portrayed as an old hag, wearing a pointed hat and flying on a broomstick across a full moon. Either that or you have the slightly modern witches wearing robes, a wand in one hand and chanting "Wingardium Leviosa" to levitate a feather. However, no matter how old-fashioned or modern a witch is to the general understanding, one thing is for sure, witches and their spells are something we normal folks can't counteract, which leaves us all pretty much at the mercy of witches all around the world.

Yeah, you've guessed it. Spells are the only thing that scares me when it comes to dealing with witches. (Assuming I would ever come across a lost witch and having to deal with her - in my lifetime). Witches and warlocks are the last things I would ever want to come across.

Don't believe me? OK, check out this video below and then TELL me you're not afraid of witches!

Even though I have listed the reasons I am afraid of witches, there is still one particular witch that I would like to go check out this season. And because this is The Season of The Witch, I hope I can count of Nicholas Cage to not let me be caught by a witch and eaten alive since I'm still *cough* very young *cough*.

Season of the witch

So, if you do not want to be hexed by a witch or get into witchcraft trouble, pack up your gear and get these ready :
  1. Earplugs so that you won't hear the spell they cast on you in order for it to work.
  2. Keep a bottle of salt nearby. Make a circle of salt and stay in the circle so that witches cannot come near you.
  3. Bury a knife under your doorstep to protect your home from witches, who supposedly can't pass over cold iron.
  4. Prevent a witch from making your milk cow dry by making a bell out of brass and hang it around the cow's neck because witches hate brass.
  5. If a witch infects you with a spell, drink water from a running creek for nine days straight using a cup made of cypress wood.
  6. Put a witch's nail or hair clippings in a small glass bottle. Burying the bottle will break the witch's spell.  Hanging the bottle in the fireplace will keep witches from flying into the room. Burning the bottle or if the bottle burst, then it means the witch is killed.
Alright, you're ready for some witch-action. But don't blame me if your finger rots off.

Are You Moist Enough?

So, how moist do you want me to be? *eyebrows wiggle* LOL!

You see, to me, the second best thing in this world (after love) is AMAZING skin. There's no excuse to neglect the biggest organ on our bodies - our skin. Yes, it's true. The skin is the largest organ in the body and the most vulnerable because of it's exposure to harmful rays and humid weather that changes rapidly every day. Especially in this country, the hot and wet weather all year round, and not to mention going in and out of air-conditioned buildings can dry up our skin faster than a hot drier. And then, all that's left are dull, lifeless chapped skin on bones.

So what should we do to fix this problem?

Just find the savior to an all year round moisturized skin - VASELINE!

I have been using Vaseline for as long as I can remember. But I have to confess - I don't use it religiously. I should use them every minute of every day so that I can achieve a glowing looking skin but most of the time, I would wait until my skin has suffered - starts getting itchy due to dryness - before I would take a huge blob of lotion and lather into my skin. Surprisingly, even though I use the lotion very sparsely, but when I did, my skin becomes extremely moisturized and feeling soft for as long as two weeks without need to use again. Like I said, I am LAZY, but imagine how it would be for your skin and mine if we used Vaseline EVERY DAY? Soft and supple, just like a baby's bum I reckon!

Let's see, in the market, there are FOUR different types of Vaseline body lotion that caters for four different types of skin problems or needs.
  1. Total Moisture
  2. Healthy White
  3. Intensive Rescue
  4. Aloe Cool and Fresh

However, since I do not want to have dry skin anymore now, I've decided to purchase a big bottle of Vaseline Total Moisture so that I will get complete moisture whenever and wherever I go. Which is why, I also have a mini-sized bottle of the Vaseline Total Moisture lotion so that I can have it with me on the go. And to top it all off, a Vaseline hand and nail conditioner thrown in for good measure. Why? Because I HATE dry skin!

Keeping it in my handbag ALL the time!

Conditioned nails? Why not?

Now what is it about dry skin that's such a turn-off? I mean, imagine touching sandpaper and rubbing your fingers across it, isn't it so rough? What about scaly skin, the type of skin that is so dry that makes you feel like a fish? I'm sure your husband did not plan to marry a fish - not even if you're as pretty as The Little Mermaid.

The areas of the body that are prone to being dry are the elbow, the knee, the heel and places that are over-exposed to the sun. So make sure you tackle those areas!

Please, do not faint! LOL

Once your skin is all glowy and smooth, you'll be red carpet ready!

My Mind is the Scene of the Crime

Sitting at a corner in my dark room, I heard screeching noises outside my door. There were a few scratches on the doorknob, somebody trying to turn it although I had locked it from inside. Someone was trying to come in, someone was trying to probe this secret out of my head. Someone is trying to make me spill what I had known for so long. SOMEONE, or SOME THING.

I pulled my leg up to my chest, hiding myself deeper into the folds of the heavy curtain. I tried not to breathe, thinking that it might make the thing outside my room disappear, leaving me in the darkness and the secrets with myself. But although I prayed hard, the noises became louder and although I shut my eyes tight, I can imagine those things gripping my wrists, torturing me so that I can tell this secret - the crime in my mind.

SMOKE!
Smoke started coming in from under the door. NOoooOOOOo!

I crawled to a hole nearby my room wall so that I can see what's going on outside. Who are these people outside my door?? And then I saw ------

*GASP* It's the HOTTIE Leonardo Di Caprio!

He's trying to come into my room. He have a gun! Argh!

Suddenly I feel like the whole room is turning upside down and coming down on me. OMG! It kinda look like this ------

poster

These men are trying to steal the one valuable secret in my mind. If they capture me, they will probe my mind - probably with a giant probing device. What if they cut open my brain? What if they start seeking for the secrets in my mind with a spoon? OMG! I don't care if it's cutie Leo Di-Cap right outside my room. This is super scary. What should I do? What should I do??

Maybe I should just pinch myself hard and get out of this crazy dream. Instead of going cuckoo right now, I might as well go cuckoo when I get to watch the premiere of INCEPTION on the silver screen a day before other Malaysians. HAH! How about that!

Psst, and my valuable secret? Let it be a secret for now eh?

This post is in conjunction with a contest held by Nuffnang. My apologies on the lack of imagination prose. It is 3 o'clock in the morning. My brain have gone quite numb.

I wanna watch Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 is coming soon! I can't wait!

I wasn't much of a Toy Story fan when it first came out but I think the whole storyline was just so cute that I started watching it and then I get hooked on to it and now I just can't wait for the latest installment. In Toy Story 3, we'll be seeing our regular friends like Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Rex, Hamm and so many others who had gone through a whole lot of adventure in the last two movies. But what about new toys? Would any of you like to see new toys joining the old crew?

Now, here are a list of toys and which one would any of you pick?

Now, if it were up to me, there's one toy that I would pick first and that would be Peas-In-A-Pod. Why? Because I think they're absolutely adorable. Look at those smiles. And, have you heard that three heads are better than one? (Wait, or is it TWO? Lol!)

Do we have any Toy Story fans here? Which toy would you prefer to appear in this latest installment?

How did BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520 & Celcom Turn Me On?

This is a story of how the dormant unselfish part of me was awakened into a full-fledged burning desire of need and want when an event accidentally flicked my switch on.

Photobucket

I had always been a loyal sort. Everybody knows that. My parents knew that. My family members knew that. My friends knew that. My B-bunz knew that. Once I am introduced to one thing, I'll stick to it until it wears out or turn against me. Like, for example when I was 4 years old, my mom bought my first Happy Meal and introduced Filet O'Fish to me. From then onwards, I will order Filet O'Fish everytime I visit McDonald's. The first time I actually tried something else was when I was 16 years old. I tried Double Cheeseburger and thought, wahey, it's not so bad after all. From then on, I'll order either Filet O'Fish or Double Cheeseburger when I go McDonald's and that's about it. Boring? No. That's what we call LOYAL.

But changes is not such a bad thing right? Especially if it is for the better.

I want the bear too!

I had been using Nokia all my life. But then one day I saw something that was exceedingly complete, something that reminded me of brilliancy at the tip of your finger and a technology that evolves with every circle the earth makes around the sun. And what was it that turned me on so much and revitalized my Nokia-numbed senses? It's none other than... The BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520!

Click on each picture to read description

When Nuffnang informed of the Celcom BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520 promotion being held at Chinoz KLCC on 5th February on their website, I dared to go through the heavy rain and massive traffic jam just to see what is in store and if possible, to enjoy the promotional benefits being introduced by Celcom. It is one of a limited chance to own a BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520 at a very low, affordable and reasonable price so why would I let such an opportunity go, right?

Sad to say, even though I managed to tackle the heavy rain through clouded windshield and terrible traffic jam through superb driving skills, when I arrived at the scene, the line was so incredibly long that I am no longer eligible to enjoy the offer Celcom was giving out - which was to the first 150 customers - to own the BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520 at only RM888 if you also sign up with the Celcom Exec postpaid plan. BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520 coupled with Celcom network speed for RM888 is not a waste at all.

RM888! Isn't that incredibly auspicious? Damn! Hope my luck can improve with the help of Nuffnang...

I just managed to speak to their reps. *sob*

However, to those who did not make it to Chinoz that day or those who did but was not the first 150, fret not, Celcom is also giving out awesome deals that you cannot find anywhere else for the brand new BlackBerry® Storm™ 9520! With Celcom's unparalleled line connection and network, there are no rooms for questions, hesitations or regrets!

With Celcom Exec plans how can a person ever go wrong?

The Celcom Exec 50 comes with a monthly fee of only RM148. The reasons you should choose Celcom Exec 50 postpaid plan are:
  1. 15 cents call rate to any number.
  2. Automatic discounts every month.
  3. Talk more, save more (up to 30% discount).
  4. Low monthly commitment of only RM50.
  5. FREE Celcom Broadband Basic Plan for 1 month.
The Celcom Exec 250 postpaid on the other hand, comes with a monthly fee of RM250 because:
  1. FREE Celcom Broadband Advance.
  2. Flexible and hassle-free rate plan.
  3. 2,000 minutes (voice/video calls) or SMS
  4. Covers all your mobility needs (calls, SMS, MMS, Broadband - all in one).
I also notice that Celcom rewards their Celcom Exec customers on their birthdays, sign-up anniversary and sometimes just out-of-the-blue to surprise their beloved customers! Now don't you feel at least slightly intrigued (if not more) to be a part of the fastest, widest, clearest mobile network in the country? I know I do!
