Happy Halloween 2010!

Looks like it's already the end of October. Another two months and we'll be saying Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011. Time sure flies huh? Before you know it it's Monday and the next minute it's already Friday. Sometimes I just wonder where my whole week have gone. I miss the older days when everything moves in slow motion and less pressure in store. Maybe this is how it feels to be grown up. Or maybe it's just the world getting older with me.

Whatever it is though, it is Halloween and although I have a few invites for parties, I'm not much of a person who likes late night dancing and drunkards. No, I don't drink. Plus the smell of alcohol puts me off.

Hey, have you heard of Ray Villafane? I saw a newspaper column on him and the things he carves. He is a school teacher who loves to carve as a hobby. One of the type of carvings are on Pumpkins. One day somebody gave him a pumpkin to carve and he made a scary Halloween pumpkin and the next thing he knows kids in his school started giving him pumpkins to carve.

His works look absolutely real and AWESOME. Oh, I wish I can have one! They will surely spook out the kids who comes to my house on Raya only for money. LOL!

There are so many other carvings too. You can visit his website to see more. What do you guys think?

If I have a lot of money...

I would want a sweet ride. However, I wouldn't get a Lamborghini or Ferrari. I'd rather get myself a Rolls Royce. Or maybe a vintage Jaguar Roadster.

 Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Imagine me driving that on the highway, the wind in my hair, the weather's just right and everybody's stunned by my blue body paint. Either blue or shimmery gold with shimmery silver on the front and rims. Yeah, I love gold. It brings out the "goddess" in you. Please, indulge in my dream.

But then, if you've got real deep pockets, these are some cars that you should seriously look out for. Here are the Top 10 Expensive Cars in the World 2010.

  • Koenigsegg Trevita 2010 price is $2.21 Million
Koenigsegg is a Swedish brand. With only three cars produced, the name "Trevita" suits it very well because in Swedish it means "three whites". The three cars are fully equipped with Koenigsegg Shimmering Diamond Weave bodywork, double carbon wing, paddle-shift, inconell exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, hydraulic lifting system, infotainment system, tyre monitoring system, chrono instrument cluster and airbags. Trevita has new shimmering diamond carbon fiber finish. Under the hood Koenigsegg placed the same 1018bhp engine. Very special on this model is the exterior paint fully developed at Koenigsegg headquarters.

  •  Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport 2010 price is $2 Million
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is made of carbon fibre and it houses a longitudinal beam that shifts the car's load from the first pillar to the second pillar at the time of accidents. It is powered by a 8.0 L W16 engine with carbon fiber elements and two air intakes that allows cool air for the cooling of the engine and the front wheels. The final output power released by the engine is 987 bhp and 927 lb-ft torque. Maximum speed of the car is 407 km/h. The car features an open top that can be opened or closed within a few seconds and when it is in closed position, it provides a large luggage space. The suspension system consists of shock absorbers and it allows the car's height to be increased or lowered depending upon the road conditions. The alloy wheels are enclosed with specially designed tires and the wheels are equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels.

  • Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster 2010 price is $1.8 Million
Pagani is an Italian super car manufacturer. The new Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster is a very valuable commodity, limited to only 5 units priced at 1.3 million Euro each. Behind the driver’s head in the Pagani Cinque Roadster is a hand built twin turbocharged AMG V12 engine that makes 678 HP. That tremendous amount of power lets the rocket ship inspired vehicle to sprint to 60 MPH (96.56 km/h) from a standstill in just 3.4 seconds and hit 200 km/h in under ten seconds and it won’t stop until it reaches a top speed of 217 MPH (349.22 km/h).

  • Lamborghini Reventón Roadster 2010 price is $1.56 Million
Italian maker Lamborghini only introduces 20 units of this beauty. Roadster features a jet-inspired carbon fiber body complete with aggressive 18-inch wheels while under the hood Lamborghini place a 6.5 Liter V12 that makes an astounding 670 HP and 486 lb-ft of torque coupled to the automaker’s six speed e-gear transmission. This combination of high performance pistons and electronically controlled cogs will allow the upcoming Reventón Roadster super car to go from 0 to 60 MPH (0 - 96.5 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds while reaching a top speed of around 205 MPH (329.92 km/h). Now how awesome is that?

  • Lamborghini Reventón 2010 price is $1.42 Million
Based on the Murcielago sports car, the Reventón is said to be inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet and is a true super car by all standards. Lamborghini only build 20 Reventóns, with all being spoken for. Eleven of the 20 cars are U.S.-bound. The exterior of the Reventón is formed by carbon fiber material, known as CFC. CFC is renowned for being both incredibly light and strong. It is available in only a single color, specially created for the Reventón model, and named after it. The color is a mid opaque green/grey that lacks traditional high gloss, but retains depth with the use of special metallic particles. The engine hood is made of glass laminate with open ventilation slits offering a glimpse at the large 6.5-liter V12 engine. The Reventón delivers 650 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. The G-Force-Meter is also completely new: this display shows the dynamic drive forces, longitudinal acceleration during acceleration and braking, as well as transversal acceleration around bends.

  • Maybach Landaulet 2010 price is $1.4 Million
Daimler added the Maybach Landaulet which is an open-top version of its Maybach 62 S to its lineup starting last model year. Maybach plans to produce only a handful of the cars for a select few customers with exceptionally deep pockets. Maybach occupants enjoy the convenience of audio, video, phone and navigation systems as standard equipment. The driver can also control the communication systems by voice, keeping both hands on the steering wheel for safety. A state-of-the-art, fiberoptic network is the backbone of all multimedia components and offers precise, high-speed communication among these components. A lifetime subcription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio is included with every Maybach. The Maybach Landaulet study is powered by the uprated V12 engine that Maybach engineers developed for the Maybach 57 S and Maybach 62 S. Thanks to twin turbochargers and water intercooling, the V12 develops a maximum output of 612 hp and 738 pound-feet of torque.

  •  Koenigsegg CCXR 2010 price is $1.3 Million

Its V8 engine propels the car from zero to 62 in less than three seconds. Specially developed transversal 6-speed gearbox, with optional paddle-shift. Torque sensitive limited slip differential. The engine is made of Koenigsegg aluminium V8, 4 valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts. Two-door, two seater with removable hardtop stowable under the front hood lid. The body is made from pre-impregnated carbon fibre or kevlar and lightweight sandwich reinforcements. Extra equipment includes paddle-shift, carbon wheels, fitted luggage, special leather and colour requests, Inconell exhaust system.

  • Koenigsegg CCX 2010 price is $1.1 Million

The body of the car is made of aluminum and it features fog lamps, front lamps, brake cooling system, optimal headlights, ICEM Surf CAD software and it has 50 mm space at the headroom, which makes it as the most spacious car. It can reach from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and the top speed is about 245 mph (394.29 km/h). The CCX features 6-speed Manual transmission and the gear shifts can be performed easily and smoothly even at higher loads. The CCX features the carbon fiber wheels with ceramic discs which consist of eight piston calipers in the front and six piston calipers in the rear. The interiors are mainly designed of carbon fiber and it features the leather seats, air conditioning system and a stylish dash board.

  • Leblanc Mirabeau 2010 price is $765,000
The LeBlanc Mirabeau was specially designed to feature at the 24 Hours Le Mans race. It features 4.7 L Koenigsegg V8 that delivers an output power of 700 bhp and 627 lb-ft. The top speed of the LeBlanc Mirabeau is about 230 mph (370.15 km/h).

  • SSC Ultimate Aero 2010 price is $740,000
Shelby SuperCars company are the brainchildren of Jerod Shelby who started building exotic old replicas model of Ferrari and Lamborghini. They teamed up with Aero and built their Ultimate Aero which is the fastest production car in the world, with a recorded speed of 256 mph (411.99 km/h). It dethroned the long seated Bugatti Veyron and shocked the entire world. This baby can go from 0 – 60 in just 2.7 secs. It has a twin-turbo V8 Enginer and a mind blowing 1183 horse power. However, though this may be the fastest car in the world but it doesn’t have basic safety and control mechanism like ABS brakes and traction control. So, think very carefully before you buy this one.

Although the super cars above might be very interesting to some, but I think I'll still settle with a Rolls Royce (dreaming again). I don't need to spend so much on a car. The rest of my money I should use to heal the world instead. Nothing wrong in dreaming right?

Le who Mombai?

This is a piss off post. Pissed off at a boutique.

Have you ever been to this boutique in MidValley Megamall called Le Mombai?

Photo from MidValley Megamall directory

Yes, they have some nice clothes there (and some ridiculous looking too) and the things that attracted my eyes the most are the shoes. They've got this high heeled bling-bling-rock-the-sexay-back kinda shoes. And yes, since I am a shoe lover that would literally become the old woman living in her shoes (because I spend a wad of cash only for shoes instead of something more appropriate like a house or something), I can't pass up the shoes at this boutique.

A couple weeks ago I was out shopping at this boutique and I bought a dress. It costs me RM499. Then, while I was sitting around while they were packing the dress, I saw this nice shoes and I thought, what the heck, let's just put it on. And yeah I think it fit my skin-colour just right. Plus, it's blinged up. And I'm a mad-blinging girl. I love all these sparkly stuffs. Why do you think I like Edward Cullen in Twilight? Coz he SPARKLES. Do you think I'd like him very much if his mouth is dripping in blood ALL the time? I'd rather go kiss an ogre.

Back to the story, since I didn't bring much cash at the time and a pair of shoes would cost another RM499, I decided not to buy them. But then the owner of the store, an Indian lady, came and told me that I can put a deposit first and pick up some other time. Just give a date that I might want to pick it up and the shoe will be reserved for me.

Now truth is, I don't really want the shoe. I just like the blings on the shoe. However, this store have at least two dozen different designs of shoes that are all blinging the light out of my eyes. I can't actually decide which to buy but I thought if it's OK for me to come next time and maybe exchange to another shoe, then I wouldn't mind leaving a RM100 as deposit.  And when I voiced that thought to the owner of the store, she said it's fine for as long as I don't wait until a whole year to come back. Plus, I was a repeat customer so she said, she don't mind.

However, what's bugging my tail is when this store worker called me up today. Without a proper greeting, she went like this :
Store worker 1 : Hello. Miss Bella. When you want to take your shoe ah?
Her tone totally set me off but OK, I first gave her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she never learned the proper etiquette of speaking nicely to a customer. So, I replied that I am not in KL now to go pick up the shoes.
Store worker 1 : If you don't come take ah, other people buy the shoe ah then we don't know ah.
What the---? Excuse me, do you think you're talking to a five year-old? Saying like, "If you don't go to sleep and boogeyman come out from your bed, haaa I don't know ah." By this time my ears already pricked. Who hired this woman? The person who hired this woman must be an equal idiot.

So I told her, in my most businesslike tone, that it doesn't matter to me if somebody else buy the shoe. I'm not that so much interested in that particular one anyway. I can choose other shoes since there's already a deposit there.
Store worker 1 : If you late, then deposit burn ah.
What the flying---? And this time I get real pissed. When I put the deposit two weeks ago, I asked the store owner if, let's say, I couldn't come back on time to pick up the shoes (because I travel a lot), will the deposit burn? She told me NO, because I am a repeat customer, for as long as I don't wait for one whole year that is. But now, it's only two weeks and they're making such a fuss about it which really pisses me off.

So, when I explained what went down between me and the store owner,  this store worker started talking to another worker, whom I know - an Indonesian girl who told me that these shoes comes from India (when the owner proudly declares it's from Switzerland).

Let me explain to you something. If these shoes comes from India then it means the shoes are bought off at a very much cheaper price and shouldn't be put on the shelves at RM499 a pair. But the owner had to bluff her way and say it comes from Switzerland as if it means something. But so what right? I don't judge her on that. She wants to make a business and hope people will come back if she said her shoes are of high quality from a very good place. Whatever.

So Store Worker 1 handed the phone over to Store Worker 2.
Store Worker 2 : Miss Bella, you tahu kan kalau you tak ambil kasut you hujung bulan ni, kami tak bole reserve lagi?
Me : Yes, I know that. I have no problem with that. But why did the other woman just now said my deposit burn pula?
Store Worker 2 : You tahu la Miss Bella, mana ada store yang return deposit balik pada customer.

I know what? That you're cheating your customers? That you said nothing about no deposit will be returned and that I should just KNOW that no store returns deposit to customers. You see, I don't OWN a boutique but I think I'm so much smarter than you dimwits.
Me : Are you trying to cheat your customers or something? The other day when I spoke to the owner of the store, she told me that even if I didn't get the shoes I reserved within the stipulated time, I still can come and buy other shoes and minus the deposit I've left at your store. Now what the hell is going on?
Store Worker 2 : Wait saya tanya boss. *Heard talking to boss*

After 5 minutes....
Store Worker 2 : Boss kata boleh ambil deposit kalau kasut you reserve dijual. *Hang up phone*

What the effing ditch? She HUNG UP ON ME!!

Why in the Lord's name is she such an idiot? I did not say I want the damn deposit back. I just want to clarify that I can still buy other shoes because I'm not so interested of the shoes I was made to reserve anyway. They practically shove the shoe down my throat two weeks ago. But that don't mean I want to part with my  RM399 on a shoe I don't go crazy about. What's wrong with that right?

Plus, how am I to know if that shoe I reserved is SOLD or NOT? Are they going to let me see their ledgers or something? Morons!

Now I don't know if you've ever shopped at Le Mombai in MidValley Megamall before but this attitude sucks! These people are not from a store that sells a dollar's worth of nuisance from their backyard, they're selling items that don't start from less than RM100. If they were some stupid store selling recyclable panties, I would've understood the pathetic attitude. Now if you say you get things from high class places from all over the world, then act a certain class too! Not like an imbecile who does not know how to respect customers - and a repeat customer at that! I have been to this store many times and purchased many things that was never below RM400.

If this is how these people make business, I hope their business will go down the drain soon. Ceh!

Pancakes are delicious!

But I didn't eat much pancakes that day. LOL!

A couple of weeks ago, B-bunz and I went to Paddington House of Pancakes in 1Utama for lunch. I've read about this place a few times but have never visit them before. I love to eat pancakes in the morning but that day, we thought of going for a massage first before lunch. B-bunz offered to treat me and himself for a massage at this Thai massage center in 1Utama level B1 but we didn't like the traditional massages at all. It does not help anything. Better get a massage at my own place. Sadly, my place is only for women. No men allowed. which is why B-bunz had to go for this alternative. However, since there's no slot for a massage in the morning, so we went to have our lunch at Paddington House of Pancakes first.

The appetizer we chose was this grilled eggplant with olives that was not much to my liking. The main course portion weren't too much. It's just nice if you're a small eater like me and you get full easily.

B-bunz chose one of the meals from the "Pannakoek" section while I picked from the "Galettes" section. B-bunz had this lamb with pannakoek pancakes and salads while I had this lunch set meal called Texas that consists of my own chicken with mushroom sauce, whipped potato, soft drink and dessert. The dessert is made of a few dollar pancakes with one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yums! Sorry, I lost the receipt and I'm not sure the real names of these meals.

B-bunz and I had a field day laughing at the "Pannakoek" word. We're talking and then we'll put in the "Pannakoek" word as if it's a curse word or something and end up laughing like crazy. LOL! Honestly, I have no idea what "Pannakoek" is.

B-bunz's meal

Mine

My dessert

And the total to it all, which includes B-bunz's ice lemon tea is RM76.00! However, we became hungry a few hours later, which means we should've helped ourselves with one of their Treasure Box too! I'll have to visit this place again soon.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Right. I know this is a children's book. Please don't laugh at me. But sometimes when I'm super duper bored, I just read whatever I can get my hands on. Surprisingly, these books didn't let me down.

So yeah, I AM one of those "reluctant readers" of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. But after reading one book - The Last Straw - I sort of liked reading it and the "reluctant" is slashed off the sentence. I finished one book in a day, in less than 3 hours actually. And although I would like to deny this because of my matured-age (LOL!), most of the things Greg Heffley (the main character) experienced and questions are pretty much the same things I kept asking myself in my younger days. So, how can I hate this book since it reminds me of myself - right?

Now, did you know that they made a movie out of this book? No? Visit here. Now this is something I would love to watch. Hopefully it'll be as funny and adorable as the book itself.

In truth, I didn't plan to buy these books at all, but one day I was at a flea market and I saw that one book costs RM18 when the original price (if you go to MPH or Popular Bookstores) would cost around RM29.90 or RM24.90 the cheapest. Plus, they're all brand new and still wrapped in plastic. So, instead of finishing Mary Buffett's book on investments (I will still have to get on with that one of these days) during my "recuperating" time, I decided to buy and read these books instead, after hearing all the hype it's caused and see for myself if they are any good.

And because I bought four at one time, the dear seller sold them to me for RM60 only. Mathematically, that means RM15 per book. What a bargain right? The seller also gave me his phone number and offered to get me any other books that I might be looking for at a cheaper price. How cool is that?

Seller : Can I know your name?
Me : I'm Bella.
Seller : No kidding. I'm Edward.
Me : HAHA. Seriously?
Seller : Yeah seriously. Have you read Twilight?

That was funny. He'd help me coz he's Edward and I'm Bella. LOL!!

My PARAMORE Live In Kuala Lumpur Concert!

Yippeee! I got to see Paramore last night. Did you?

I arrived at Bukit Jalil Stadium slightly after 8.30pm due to the bad traffic and problem in finding parking space. It figures, Bukit Jalil, what should I expect? By then, I was texting a friend (Zaid) who was already at the concert where he's the one that kept informing me if it's started or what song we're at. By the time I arrived, it was already the second song. Damn.

Walked super fast to the Rockzone area and when I got in, the third song is already commencing. Yup, Rockzone is full so, I went to the rails at the back and stood on them. I needed the support of the rails coz I am a little short, you see. LOL! And I never left the spot. Saw Zaid and Tian Chad in the crowd but I loved my spot. I am taller than anyone else. Plus it's so much more windier than being caught up in between sweaty bodies at the front of the stage.

Love Hayley's red hair!

I didn't make it in time to hear Paramore's opening act - Y2K playing their songs. But then there was no time for all that. The performance was non-stop with songs such as That's What You Get, Careful, Never Let It Go, When It Rains and others except for a bit of a glitch with the microphone when Hayley sang Misguided Ghosts but the fans were awesome because they helped finish the song for her. I can see her clearly but my sick camera is not capturing sharp images well. *Sad*

They performed a lot of music from their album Brand New Eyes and Riot! with a little of the first album too. I was screaming at the top of my lungs - along with other 15,000 fans - when they played Decode. Oh yes, me loves this song from Twilight. I think that's the reason I lost my voice last night.I totally love the time when she sang The Only Exception in acoustic and she had everyone to light up their lighters, glow stick and lit cellphone screens and wave it in the air. That was the most beautiful thing ever!

Hayley managed to get the crowd to sing the chorus of Brick by Boring Brick before finishing the night with Misery Business. Yup, the ending was fabulous too when Hayley brought a fan on stage. Damn. That's when I wished I was at the front of stage amongst those sweaty crowd, as long as I can sing next to Hayley. The fan who got to sing on stage (and take photo WITH Hayley) is a one lucky dude! *Envy* Sadly he didn't start the second verse well. Maybe he's too nervous. And Y2K was also on stage to be the "backup dancers" and everyone was in for a hell of a finish.
Confetti everywhere

Get together for a bow

"I'm the queen of the world!"

It was a super awesome concert!

Oh, and of all the concerts I been to, I had to bump into my married ex-bf at a concert I went by myself. LOL! It was funny though at the same time it's nice to see a familiar face. So if you see part of his face in the video, ignore that. But all is fine (I hope!) even though B-bunz found out. Teehee!

How safe are you?

By now, I'm sure everybody have read or at least heard of the accidents involving a few cars and bus at PLUS Highway 223 or better known as Simpang Ampat.

The number of deaths was 15. Not to mention those in critical condition and also those in trauma over this incident. Now, I am not going to go into details on this matter but I'm just going to ask a question - Why is this happening?

Too often we read about a bus involving in an accident - especially during festive seasons. Too often there are huge amounts of deaths or casualties. Now how can this happen? Is it the driver's negligence? Or is it the responsibility of the management? How about the owner of the bus? Most of the time there might be a problem with the vehicle itself, be it failure of the brakes or worn out tyres or many other mechanical things. Then add that with human error, and you've got fatalities that some other country only get because of war. Although some may not want to admit this, but I find it incredibly stupid to die for no reason - like some roadkill frog - when you could've died for so many other patriotic and memorable ways.

This same goes to deaths of pilots that died on routine training flights because of flying some rusty old Nuri bought some time in the late 60's that has been used, re-used and should be sent to scrap metal shop instead of having someone fly them. OK, I know it's better to just throw out the old and in with the new, but let's say, hypothetically that our Government is very very poor, then why not use some of the money that's still there (There are still some money there right? I mean if you can spend RM400million for 1Malaysia F1 team, don't you at least have another RM1million to spare for emergencies?) for maintenance on the current aircrafts we have now. Instead of tendering ridiculously high priced projects to replace the old aircrafts with new toys that might get rusty without proper care, let's allocate some of those money for the maintenance part that can sustain the aircrafts we have for many more years to come.

I think this behaviour of appreciating what we have and taking care of it through maintenance should start from the bottom of the pyramid right up to the top. In the long run, we can save more money and not forgetting to mention the lives as well as allowing people to keep having jobs for many years. Now, isn't that a win-win situation?

OK, I'm sure some of you know I drive almost everyday (from my rantings in Twitter) and that I go through Federal Highway to go to my destination. Two days ago, I was on the highway as usual, driving on the right lane during heavy traffic when this lorry suddenly zooms next to me. I was so surprised to see the tyre of this lorry. OMG!

Look at the tyre!

Close-up

Isn't that a threat to other road users' safety? What if he loses control of his lorry? What about all the other vehicles on his right and left? Right after I took the picture, someone from two cars ahead of me called out to the lorry driver and was pointing at the lorry's tyre. The Indian dude - the driver - just kept on nodding and drove off. I wonder where he's going though as far as I know, there is no lorry workshop from where we're at or any where towards KL. So he's risking his safety and the safety of others to go to wherever his destination is instead of having the tyres fixed immediately after it exploded.

Now who's to blame?

Lives cannot be bought. Let's not waste it in vain.

CROCS-a-doodle-doo

OK wait. Not this croc.

I'm talking about these CROCS actually.

G-013A, Ground Floor, Mid Valley Megamall,
Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, 59200 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel : 03-2287 6802

Last Friday, I was at CROCS Concept Story in MidValley Megamall because they have just launched the latest CROCS footwear models. Not forgetting to mention that this CROCS store is actually one of the largest CROCS store in South East Asia, with a space of 1,700 sq ft and housing almost 2000 footwear. The latest CROCS models are the Genna-G (for cute little girls) and flats. Of course, the older footwear models such as the Crocband Sneakers, Crocband Genna, Crocband Flips and others are still available.

Latest edition to the family : Genna-G, sneakers and more.

And yes, looks like CROCS will be adding another outlet soon at Farenheit 88 this November. There will be newer stocks coming in then, so make sure you check out the new outlet once it's open. There all also other outlets of CROCS in Malaysia, you can check out if there's a store near you here.

Oh!! Before I forget, for Hello Kitty fans out there, you can also have your own Hello Kitty Crocs. Now how's that for a tame friend?

Head down to your nearest CROCS outlet and check them out yourselves or browse for your favourites online. You may also follow them on Facebook and Twitter for more updates.
