My Maher Zain Live In Concert, Malaysia

I was at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam last night for Maher Zain's concert. It was a last minute thing. My aunt decided she wanted to go three days before the concert and dragged me along (LOL!). So, we just bought two of the RM103 tickets. At first I thought it was free seating but after picking up our tickets, we got the G45 and G46 seats which is at the East side, facing the stage, on the Upper Tier. Awesome right?

Let me tell you this, I am glad I went. Although, I have to admit I wasn't so happy with the bad traffic on the way to Shah Alam and I think I've cursed at least 300 other drivers along the way. It was all forgiven and forgotten because the show turned out to be great.

There were some on and off moments for me.

"Off" moments :
Parents bringing their kids aged 5 years and below. Children this age get antsy easily and in a concert that lasted for more than 2 1/2 hours will kill their mood and thus killing my mood too. Why? Because these kids starts to move back and forth, play with the chairs, knocking and kicking the chairs which at the same time disturbing the people sitting NEXT to them. Look, I know you folks can afford to pay the ticket for your kid that's above 3 years old and I have no problem with that but seriously parents, WHY do you want to bring your 5 year old kid to a concert anyway? One that finishes near midnight too! Look, do not put your child through unnecessary stress by making them stay up late for a concert that they don't even know how to spell. Get a babysitter. Let them sleep peacefully at home and dream about sheep jumping over the moon. Be a GOOD PARENT. You'll have their teenage years of concert requests that'll make your ears bleed!

"On" moments :
Maher Zain being super duper sporting and sang according to the audiences' requests and repeated the songs  again and again because we didn't want him to end the concert. The concert started at 9pm and finished at 11.40pm. How cool is that? How many performers would do that for their fans? Not without being paid, they won't. But Maher Zain is a one cool brother.

Click play to listen to "Freedom"

One more thing he surprised us was singing to us the song "Freedom", which is the first time he performed for an audience. Like I said, it was awesome! There were many other songs too from Maher Zain's Thank You Allah album such as Alhamdulillah, Thank You Allah, Palestine, Insha Allah, For The Rest Of My Life. Barakallah and so much more. Irfan Makki was also there to sing Allahi Allah Kiya Karo with Maher. Maher brought along his friends to Malaysia too such as Mesut Curtis of Macedonia (another melting voice!) and Fadli from Indonesia to sing the Malay part of the song Insha Allah.

Sorry, video is not so good after converted

I don't know about anybody else, but I left the concert very happy - and with no voice - hoping that Maher Zain would make better music in the future so that I can attend his future concerts again. His songs carry very deep and meaningful messages that could touch even the most cynical person. I know I did. So, anyone who never heard of Maher Zain before, it wouldn't hurt to listen to some of his music. And to those who never gone to his concert before, I think you should so that you can experience the wonderful music and see for yourselves how generous Maher is to his fans.

Truly amazing.

P. Diddy & Usher

Honestly, after watching these two videos, I cannot decide which is funnier. I think both videos are, in it's tragic and embarrassing situation. I say tragic because I know it'll take a long time for the hair to grow back the way it used to. OK, I know it's not nice to laugh but I just can't help it.

Usher Kicked In Face at Concert

Which one is worse? Your hair caught on fire or being the only girl in the whole wide world who kicked Usher in the face? LOL!

My PARAMORE Live In Kuala Lumpur Concert!

Yippeee! I got to see Paramore last night. Did you?

I arrived at Bukit Jalil Stadium slightly after 8.30pm due to the bad traffic and problem in finding parking space. It figures, Bukit Jalil, what should I expect? By then, I was texting a friend (Zaid) who was already at the concert where he's the one that kept informing me if it's started or what song we're at. By the time I arrived, it was already the second song. Damn.

Walked super fast to the Rockzone area and when I got in, the third song is already commencing. Yup, Rockzone is full so, I went to the rails at the back and stood on them. I needed the support of the rails coz I am a little short, you see. LOL! And I never left the spot. Saw Zaid and Tian Chad in the crowd but I loved my spot. I am taller than anyone else. Plus it's so much more windier than being caught up in between sweaty bodies at the front of the stage.

Love Hayley's red hair!

I didn't make it in time to hear Paramore's opening act - Y2K playing their songs. But then there was no time for all that. The performance was non-stop with songs such as That's What You Get, Careful, Never Let It Go, When It Rains and others except for a bit of a glitch with the microphone when Hayley sang Misguided Ghosts but the fans were awesome because they helped finish the song for her. I can see her clearly but my sick camera is not capturing sharp images well. *Sad*

They performed a lot of music from their album Brand New Eyes and Riot! with a little of the first album too. I was screaming at the top of my lungs - along with other 15,000 fans - when they played Decode. Oh yes, me loves this song from Twilight. I think that's the reason I lost my voice last night.I totally love the time when she sang The Only Exception in acoustic and she had everyone to light up their lighters, glow stick and lit cellphone screens and wave it in the air. That was the most beautiful thing ever!

Hayley managed to get the crowd to sing the chorus of Brick by Boring Brick before finishing the night with Misery Business. Yup, the ending was fabulous too when Hayley brought a fan on stage. Damn. That's when I wished I was at the front of stage amongst those sweaty crowd, as long as I can sing next to Hayley. The fan who got to sing on stage (and take photo WITH Hayley) is a one lucky dude! *Envy* Sadly he didn't start the second verse well. Maybe he's too nervous. And Y2K was also on stage to be the "backup dancers" and everyone was in for a hell of a finish.
Confetti everywhere

Get together for a bow

"I'm the queen of the world!"

It was a super awesome concert!

Oh, and of all the concerts I been to, I had to bump into my married ex-bf at a concert I went by myself. LOL! It was funny though at the same time it's nice to see a familiar face. So if you see part of his face in the video, ignore that. But all is fine (I hope!) even though B-bunz found out. Teehee!

My Usher Concert at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur

OK, yes, so I went to Usher concert the other day - on 7th July 2010 to be exact.

So how was it?

First and foremostly, we arrived around 8.40pm. It was all a last minute thing actually. I got an offer on the tickets last minute. It was the RM438 (Yellow Zone) tickets. I was already a little pissed off that I didn't get to go to the meet and greet the day before because a girl who was supposed to give me the meet and greet tickets was offered big bucks by someone else and failed to inform me she have sold them. So, there I was waiting for the tickets, trying to contact her and she just vanished. I was angry  because I was offered by another person as well and I didn't accept that because I thought I would rather help her with a few bucks instead but then she went AWOL at the height of it all and I finally didn't get any. Seriously, if you want to sell something, be professional please! In between all that, I found out that a horde of fans were lucky to bump into him at Pavillion KL where he went shopping.

Photo from Twitter.

So, when I was offered the Yellow Zone tickets, they're a little too hard to pass up. I mean, it's right in front of the stage! Although, I do wish I got the VIP seats instead.

We went to buy some food before entering the stadium first because I was fasting that day and we were starving. So, the queuing to buy food took up almost half hour which meant we didn't get to see the opening act. I don't know who the opening act was but was later told that it was Sheila Majid and Mizs Nina - correct me if I'm wrong on this.

By the time we got our food and everything, we heard loud screams coming from inside the stadium. I thought Usher was already there but apparently (again informed by a friend) that it was just a van that came into the stadium. LOL! Seriously, these people scream for almost anything. By the time we went into the stadium, Usher was still not out yet and it was already 9.30pm. So, we ate first and then only he appeared - when I was about to finish my hot dog.

Honestly, I am a little disappointed. I don't know about Usher's die-hard fans, but I felt a little cheated. Throughout this whole year, Usher's concert is the only concert selling really high-priced tickets. But the concert only lasted less than 2 hours. And in every song, he would just sing parts and pieces and let the fans do the rest. I do pity him actually. Even from the first song, he looked like he just stepped out of the shower. Don't they have cooling fans on stage or something? I mean, he can't be singing, dancing and jumping around without any sort of air directed to cool him a bit right? Isn't that like an essential thing for performers on stage? Coz it's hot up there what with the spotlight being directed on him, if there's no air he'd probably faint. I don't think the weather was too hot that night, plus it rained the whole day. So I assume due to the maximum sweating, he was not able to perform so well? OK, blame it on the weather.

And do you know that Usher is now single? In case you don't know, he said it a few times on stage. And he commented that "marriage is not his thing because he's tried it and it didn't turn out so well for him" on a banner made by a fan read, "Will you marry me?"

Oh, and the RELA people are so freaking annoying! They confiscated all cameras. I mean seriously, who does not bring cameras to concert right? Recording devices are all confiscated - but smartphones that are also able to record just as well as a recording camera were not confiscated. So those lucky ones with smartphones were able to record until the end. Isn't that like so unfair? I mean seriously, if concert organizers want to be such an ass, why not be a REAL ass and confiscate everything? Or maybe the RELA people can't differentiate smartphones with those normal phones. So sad they're not so smart. *piss off mode*

But then again, I still get to record the audio of the whole concert. HAHA! See, not so smart are you people?
(Audio will be put up in a separate blog post).

The concert finished at 10.45pm. Usher finished it with his latest song "Oh My Gosh" and there was no encore whatsoever. I've enjoyed his old songs more than the latest ones so those are the only one I scream loudly for and judging from the screaming level of the fans, I think the songs that the crowd could relate to the most was "Yeah!" and "Burn". And the histerics level increase a notch whenever he does all those sexual movements. LOL! I bet those two girls who got his soaking wet face towel must have already frame it up by now. LOL!!

So, my opinion on this one - it could've been better. I have been to many very good concerts where the artist have a very high level of energy and are very good entertainers as well. Luckily I didn't pay RM438 per ticket for this one (the cost remains a secret but maybe I should just fast for another week to recover).

Kelly Clarkson ALL I EVER WANTED TOUR Live In Malaysia 2010 | Part 2

Stadium Bukit Jalil

What an awesomesauce concert!

Luckily my ears are fine now. I was afraid I would stay deaf permanently. Coz the fans are super duper loud! I don't have the lungs or the vocal chords to reach such deafening proportion. LOL! I was a little more laid-back at the concert. I do feel a little old now compared to my concert-going time few years ago. Oh, and there were kids as young as 7 years old at the concert, yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs. Wow.. My first concert was when I was 14!

So, I arrived at Bukit Jalil around 6pm from Berjaya Times Square where I picked up my ticket from a friend. I hang out for a drink first before walking to the stadium around 7.30pm. I entered the stadium around 7.40pm and heard Natalie from Hitz.fm's voice talking about the sponsors and how proud she is with the concert-goers. Went to my seat, which is at COMP C (ticket worth RM288) Block 114. Every seat have a Sembonia goody bag waiting.

Jaclyn Victor

I was twittering as Natalie threw posters to the crowd (she can't throw so far.. LOL!) when an Arabic guy came next to me, ask if he can take photo with me, snapped a photo and then left for his seat at God knows where. I was left a little perplexed. LOL! Weird maximum. Then, as I continue twittering and replying text messages on my phone, Jaclyn Victor came out to sing a medley of short Malay songs from the 80's, 90's and present. Although I am not a very big fan, but I do agree she has got some strong vocals. So, I enjoyed it and even sang along to some of the songs like "Isabella" (eeei that's me!), "Janji Manismu", "Rahsia Pohon Cemara" and many more. I grew up to those songs, duh!

After about 15 minutes of continued singing, Natalie came out to introduce another opening act, Suki. I have no idea who she is. She's cute, I grant you that but the too-big, too-red wedding dress cum layered cake dress is a little too much for such a concert I think. She just sang one Malay song, which I can't quite make out some of the words before leaving us in anticipation for Kelly Clarkson.

Oh, that's Kelly Clarkson's car y'all. Coming into the stadium at the very last minute. Such an entrance!

I wish I had a better camera!

When she came out and started singing, everybody can't seem to stop screaming. The girls at my back were loud, I tell you. The people at my row wasn't, sadly, coz most of them are probably reaching 40 years old! Including the fella sitting on my left who stole my Sembonia goody-bag. Blardiful old man!

The Miss Independent did not disappoint her fans. She was very energetic all throughout. Of course, not all of her songs are the jump-out-of-your-seat type but the ballads are nice too, lets you relax a little and collect your energy again for the next upbeat song. She sang most of her hits such as All I Ever Wanted, Miss Independent, Breakaway, Never Again, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Walk Away, Addicted, Gone and then she also coaxed the crowd to join her on her latest song I Want You, dividing the crowd into two parts and having us sing together. There were medleys too like the one I posted on my Part 1 blog post. She also covers songs by Kylie Minogue "Can't Get You Outta My Head", The Black Keys "Lies" and The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army".

Then there's the awesome band and backup singers, the flashmob who sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her which she acknowledged, thanked and replied, "I made it, I'm 28," before saying how grateful she is to celebrate it in Malaysia. Already Gone was not the last song of the day but I already saw the same van appearing and parking next to the stage so I bet there's going to be one last song before it's done, which it turns out, I was right. After she finished with the song Without You, she picked up her shoes (she was barefoot by then), ran backstage and the van was off. Everybody was already out of their seats but everyone managed to turn to the van and wave goodbye to Kelly. Yup, she's got amazing fans here.

The management did not allow video recording. They come up with their torchlights to you and tell you "No Recording" in that monotonous voice. It sucks coz what's a good concert if you can't record at least a song or two to remember by, right? Oh, but the last one, I did record coz everybody was already so hot and sweaty they just had to get out of their seats and jump. LOL!

So, did I enjoy the concert? My retired concert-going body was too hot and a little dizzy but what I can say is, the excitement, the anticipation and the warm welcome Malaysia gave Kelly Clarkson is a one exceptional experience!

Kelly Clarkson Concert in Bukit Jalil April 25, 2010 | Part 1

Alright, I promised B-bunz I am going to sleep straight away so I cannot write too much on the concert I just attended a few hours ago. But let's just say, right now I am quite deaf. LOL! I will leave you guys with an audio on one of the songs (medley) sang by Miss Kelly Clarkson herself. Full report of the concert shall be done tomorrow, promise.

So, enjoy guys!
